    Frederator Digital produces videos for a variety of digital platforms on the topics of gaming, cartoons, comedy, anime, and general entertainment. Our production team operates out of our New York City office creating dozens of videos every week.

    Frederator Networks is currently seeking a Head of Production. The Head of Production manages and oversees a 7 person production team and a sprawling network of freelancers in the creation of videos for our owned & operated channels. These videos range from informative videos, to live streams, trailers, promotion, branding videos and more. The Head of Production is responsible for overseeing all aspects of content production from start to finish, including budgeting, timeline, staffing, production, post production, and delivery.

    In addition to managing execution of content, the Head of Production will work closely with Programming and Management to ensure that all content meets best practice and branding guidelines. This includes delivering consistent quality on existing content types as well as piloting and experimenting with new formats and types of content.

    The ideal candidate will be thoroughly versed in production for a variety of media types targeted largely at digital consumption (YouTube, Facebook, SVOD, and other social media platforms). This is NOT an animation position.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage and supervise 7-person on-site team and freelance network.
    • Review creative on all productions ensuring consistency, quality and freshness.
    • Manage communication of production team with programming, marketing and accounting departments.
    • Maintain and continually improve production pipeline by helping team with effective project management and communication. Ensure productions run smoothly, on budget and on time.
    • Hire outside vendors, freelancers and new staff members, when necessary.
    • Report to management and programming team on current status of projects and business.
    • Manage legal clearances and ensure that content meets established legal guidelines.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Minimum of 6 years production experience.
    • At least 2 years experience managing team members.
    • Ability to supervise many ongoing projects at once.
    • Extensive experience and understanding of most current and upcoming production styles and publishing platforms (YouTube Certification a major plus).
    • Understanding of pre-production, production and post-production process in a variety of formats.
    • Ability to adjust priorities and working styles depending on company’s current needs and goals.
    • Flexibility to deal with changing deadlines, formats, and delivery requirements.
    • Ability to manage up, as well as down.
    • Willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as needs change.

  • Frederator Digital is accepting production, writing, programming, marketing, and administrative interns in our New York, NY office. Please note that internship positions have nothing to do directly with animation or cartoon-production. Internships are for education and training.

  • Frederator Digital is seeking a digital-native programmer to help us program online video and bring it to linear television. This position reports to the Vice President of Programming in New York City.

    Responsibilities

    • oversight of the Frederator Digital, channel, and show brands including maintaining on brand identity and delivering on brand promises
    • creation and execution of data-driven programming plans for a roster of O&O channels according to Frederator Digital principles
    • generate original ideas and arenas for development of programming
    • will be assigned on-air programs under the guidance of the Vice President to review, provide notes on, and approval of show outlines, scripts, roughs, and polish
    • assist in workshopping and implementing new video content optimized for each distribution network/channel
    • act as liaison between the Frederator Digital departments (programming, production, and MCN) to streamline flow of information
    • recommend and implement best practices
    • prepare regular marketing reports, summaries and plans
    • meet and exceed monthly revenue, view, and subscription-based KPIs
    • lead and support research projects and create materials to help internal teams better understand audience trends
    • ensure consistent internal communications and reporting, including campaign documentation to other teams and management
    • lead integration of digital marketing strategy for O&O roster with marketing and paid media teams

    Basic Qualifications

    Job Requirements

    • bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
    • 4 – 6 years of audience development and/or digital marketing experience
    • Must have strong writing and excellent communication skills.
    • Knowledge of basic accounting sufficient to review, analyze and evaluate budgets.
    • strong analytical skills, with ability to derive meaningful actions from large data sets
    • expert with Google business suite
    • strong presentation skills
    • highly-organized and detail oriented with exceptional sense of accountability
    • expert with industry-standard analytics and reporting tools
    • experience in CPV/CPC/CPM-based business models with an understanding of paid digital ad buys on social, search, and with retargeting

    Preferred:

    • experience at a mid-level to major online video publisher
    • experience producing content for YouTube is a plus
    • on-camera experience a bonus, but not required
    • experience using project management software such as Asana or Basecamp
